The Offical Stamp of Governmental Opproval That They Have The Right Religion and Everyone Else Doesn't isn't going to appear, because Bush needs a Supreme Court pardon, not another fight that he can't win over Roe vs. Wade.

Exactly. In the case of Miers, two wrongs are almost making a right, but on a larger scale, and on principle, the wrongs are just exponentially multiplied.
