I don't know if my "Spanish Proverb of the Day" was listening to the speech last night or just sent this as a nice coincidence:

They don't give a source. Usually they do when it's a quote, so it must be a Spanish-language proverb. (I get daily quotes and proverbs in Spanish from About.com Spanish Language Guide--this was one of them)
