Tuesday was not one of my brighter days. It is only blind chance that I'm still around to write this. It was a cold day, and I was doing my selling stint to raise money for the Dharma Center. No customers, and it was getting dark. I turned on one space heater, but still felt chilled to the bone, so I turned on another. Sudden total darkness--I'd blown a fuse. This would just be a normal event for me, but I was sitting in a little plywood shack jammed to the roof with fireworks. What if both heaters had run a little hot, or if I'd gotten an overheated line instead of a blown fuse? Cannot believe how dumb I was.

In other news, I've decided that I really should pare my flist just a bit. I've mostly taken out some feeds I don't really read and some folks I never interact with. Probably no one will notice--but if I removed you and you'd like to stay in touch, let me know.

Wow, that must've been so scary! *big hugs* I'm so glad you're safe, mamcu. That's the most important thing! Slapping yourself on the wrist afterward is just useful for making sure you don't make the same mistake twice. I've done some stupid things in my life too, and I guess they make such an impression that you forever remember not to do it again.

*hugs again* Go snuggle in a nice, warm, non-electrical blanket, okay? :)

Fortunately it's up in the 60's here, now! Perhaps I just had a cold brain. Thanks for the good wishes.

Alls well, that ends well.

If you realize your mistakes before they turn into disasters, I'd say you've had a good day, even if it wasn't one of your best. ;o)

"Whew," indeed!

I am glad you are safe and sound!

And that I am still on your friends list...

Of course you are! I just removed some folks who have a huge readership and don't interact. Wouldn't miss your great posts!

I can empathize for the desire for heat overriding thoughts of explosives accidents...

Yeah, I'm the kind of person who would fly into the sun, damn the wax and the feathers.

Looks like a phoenix there in your icon, speaking of firelovers. Very nice.

Yikes! Now that is a bit nervous making. I often think we must have guardian angels, to keep us safe from our own stupidity..lord knows I've made some really dumb moves in my day. At least we're still here to talk about them!
Be careful around fireworks,eh? I want to read the next adventures of Gen and all..(speaking of which, I'm going to check with my friends to see where they are at with the reading..will let you know.)

Well, the fun part of writing mysteries is that I can always take something like this and rework it for a book (maybe a close escape with a little more excitement, or a particularly hard to trace murder....)! Especially since Gen et al were facing a hurricane when I stopped writing just before Christmas, and that's going to be hard to get back to...Thanks for remembering, but I definitely understand that everyone's busy around this time of year.
