There's the usual speculation in the press (although they finally seem to have stopped making insulting suggestions of non-acting celebrities) but nothing firm. There was a disturbing press story a few months ago claiming that a "BBC source" had said that they are worried about falling ratings with Capaldi and will insist on the next Doctor being another young "sexy" one (and presumably certainly not black or female).

I heard there were concerns about shifting merch, which makes me want to go and buy up all the Capaldi figurines while I still can.
