Day Five: Six things you are glad you did.

1. Have babies. I know it's not possible for everyone, but still, glad I was lucky enough to have the chance. Especially since it turned out so well. My very favorite things in the universe, my sons.
2. Get married again. Not easy, often feels Sysiphean, but think I've grown more from keeping on trying with relationships than anything else.
3. Meditate (and include yoga in this). Maybe I wouldn't appreciate the other things without this. Kind of like contact lenses for the spirit.
4. Spend time with my parents when they were old and dying. In spite of the various problems, now I remember only the good parts. And I don't feel more guilty than appropriate.
5. Spend the time in Guatemala (and hope it isn't finished). Living with the family, traveling by myself, speaking a different language. Nothing else has made me grow so much.
6. Grow a garden. A lot like meditation. Reminds that you always come back to the same point.

Funny that the one yesterday about interesting things I think about was so hard, and this one is so easy. I could list 10 more.

My favorite cup says "A garden is never finished." For which I'm very thankful.

Glad you like it! I started to say "spectacles for the spirit," but figured most people wouldn't know what I meant~

It's great to hear people rejoice in their children.

I love to hear people talk about their kids--no matter how old the kids are!
