Boo hiss. My desktop has the 2010 Antivirus Pro virus, and I can't do anything to clean it (can't even get into the command screen). Geek Squad says they can--hope they know what they're getting into. And just when I was getting aggravated with my ancient MacBook, I see its value bigtime. Come along, little Mac, let's hit the sky and leave that hulking PC to its fate.

Yesterday was the breakage day--in addition to the virus, a thunderstorm knocked a huge limb onto the power wires, so I was without power for the evening. Came on just in time to turn out the lights and go to sleep.

Today we trapped the elegant feral MJ (he has white gloves) and took him to be neutered. He's currently recuperating in the basement, but I'm pretty sure I'm not his pal anymore. Still, no more kittens (from him at least) and fewer battle injuries. Hope he sticks around when we let him out of the sterile carrier where he has to spend the night. Mop was totally horrified when I carried the spitting, hissing, fighting carrier through the house.

And now I need to go wash the mosquito repellent off before the whole house is sticky and smelly (the candle help, but we have C17 mosquitoes).

Ooooooh, feral cats are really something, aren't they? You did the right thing!!! There are way too many homeless kittens born. And won't it be great when, the next time he shows up, his ears are not ripped to shreds?

I've had a Mac so long I don't work well on a PC anymore. I just wish they did not cost so much.

He zapped out of his carrier and ate a huge breakfast this morning, so I think he's fine. Hoping for fewer yowls!

Oh dear for the power outage -- the worst thing about an outage is the heat *and* the humidity, this time of year.

Fortunately for me, the power outage was at night and the storm had cooled things off--still humid, but not humid and hot!

MJ actually forgave us, since we're the source of canned catfood. He doesn't even seem to remember what happened. But the vet assistant said, "That cat is *really* feral!" So I expect they remember.
