Worst thing about reading Under the Dome with cast on foot: carrying 1100 pages while on crutches.

Fell off the bottom step (not the top, fortunately), and broke a bone in my foot, the night before New Year's Eve (when you probably had other things to do). The Doc in a Box Xrayed and put me in a cast, but I won't know the details until I see the orthopedist tomorrow. Hoping it's very minor and soon healed--it doesn't hurt much, but the crutches thing is very aggravating.

Bummer! I was on crutches for a week in 8th grade... very minor stress fracture, but the crutches did get old fast.

Actually, it works out fine--I got a little sack that I can carry in my pocket empty and sling over my arm when I carry the giant book or anything else.

That's exactly what I use---except I wind up with all the bags by one chair and all the books by another one. Just need to remember to keep a bag in my pocket.

I have a minion, but he can only do three or four things at one time. I need a cat who earns her keep! Maybe with a little wagon--I don't think 1100 pages will fit in a backpack for her.

Also, it turns out the weight is not the worst thing about the book, after all.
