Ah, yes.

We were walking together that day through the streets of Charleston and we stopped at the Battery and looked across the harbor. The seafood dinner that evening of course was fantastic, but what I really remember was that ham sandwich I tried to eat on the boat out to Fort Sumter. We were talking about Buffy, of course, when suddenly you cried, "Look out!" I turned and all I saw was a huge, wet, dark gray shape moving through the air inches from my face. A bottle-nosed dolphin had leaped up and stolen my sandwich!

I remember when we were at the beach and we were utterly pissed off at the neighbors for butchering the branches of their tree. I mean, we were so pissed off, that, after getting plastered that night on merlot, we hiked down our undies and urinated on the hood of their car!!! LOL! OMG, I can't believe we actually did that. We could SO have gotten caught. How would we have explained that to our parents?

You and I decided to make an internet meme and you suggested that people should write down a memory, and I thought fake memories might be good because a lot of the f-list has never met. So you wrote it up and we launched it. Seeing as how it has come back around again, I guess we did a good enough job. :)

It's the softness of the air that I remember. How alive it was in the Butterfly house as they moved around us, slow as honey dreams. We didn't really talk. Even though we'd met by accident and there were so many things to be said. Although, really, it's that as we spoke our words became the butterflies that tasted the salt sweat of our skin in the hot glass house under a summer sun.

ah yes!!! i remember it well! i met you at the party at Chanitcleer Gardens!! you taught me how to grow tulips and opium poppies! then we walked down to the pond and we wove a canoe out cat-tail reeds. and bobbed around on the water for awhile, talking, and catching dragonflies in our cat-tail nets.
