That song has always made me sad. These days it's because people much younger than us will never know how many ways the Folk movement meant things to a lot of us heading into the late 60s. They'll hear the distance echoes but never quite know the passion.
I grew up with them. Odd coincidence--the day before this news, the folk music parody film A Mighty Wind was shown on TV. I've always thought that it's so affectionate that it doesn't quite make it as satire--more of a tribute.
