So we have an old Philips-Magnavox at our rental house, and some renter put a child-lock on it. I have no idea who the renter was, could have been anytime in teh past six years, so can't get the code they put in. Help! Does anybody know if there's anyway to get rid of it if you don't have a code?

I feel confidenr that there's brilliance plus deviousness in my friends' list that will overcome!

You will need to call Philips-Magnavox customer service and talk to one of their tech reps. There is a way to override it, but it varies from set to set and they can step you through it. Have the model number available when you call. You may also need the remote control, have that handy (with good batteries also) too.
