Having access to weather radar that updates every ten minutes is not always a good thing. I can see that rainstorm moving across Alabama and Tennessee and every time I look, it gets lighter and lighter. All the water will be gone by the time it gets here, as usual.

It hasn't really rained for a month, I think.

I feel for you. We're well into our storm season and other than a little thunder, nothing. It's over 110 every day this week and everything is turning yellow or brown.

Is your climate changing? One sad thing here is that there are many native trees and flowers that need a wetter summer. We used to get 5 or 6 inches of rain a month in the summer, but almost every summer lately we've had these long dry spells, and things are dying. I hate to see the old oaks go.

It's changing very subtly. The Springs seem to be a little wetter and the Summers drier. The Fall and Winter seem like usual. The our true native plants are fine but the ornamental plants from the Chihuahua Desert, from farther south in Mexico and from the California high desert are really suffering.

Thanks. I do notice that rains comes across south of here--getting moisture out of the Gulf, I expect. Perhaps you're getting a little more than you want...

Yeah, it's called global climate change for a reason.
It's been a lot drier here too. Normally June is quite rainy, but this year we only had 3 days of rain. July's looking a little more normal, but not much.
*sends rainy thoughts your way*

And here we had one of the wettest, coolest Junes on record.

It's hard to know whether this is a permanent trend or what.
