I know someone has posted what I want, but now I can't remember who. I've gotten the famous Amazon apology letter and am not going to click the it's-all-ok-now button until I know it is all OK. What are the titles of any of the books that were removed, so I can see if they've been restored?

Just type in the word homosexuality and see all the born-again crap leading the list. That is the not ok test.

I haven't gotten it. I hate to give up Amazon, but I guess I'll have to.

I wrote to Customer service and got the "glitch" letter yesterday. I replied that my problem still wasn't resolved and got the "embarrassing error" message today. Haven't replied to that one--yet.

I would certainly be glad to give up Amazon over this, though I've been a good customer for years.

OK, right under the Parents Guid to tormenting your kids you can now ask for fiction or nonfiction on this topic. It is a fix of sorts.

I did a search on "Parents' guide to homosexuality" and got a whole list of how to prevent kids from being gay. But when I searched "Parents' guide to parenting gay teenagers," I got much better stuff: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=parents+guide+to+homosexuality&x=0&y=0

I definitely don't think all is OK with Amazon because of this, but am thinking that they're using the term homosexuality with the Nazi books and gay with the more humanistic ones.

Are you talking about the [livejournal.com profile] meta_writer comm? They have a list of books that were de-ranked over here: http://community.livejournal.com/meta_writer/11992.html

I'm not clicking the it's-all-okay-now button either. Because even if they get all the books ranked again, I'm not reassured by the way their system is set up. It was a glitch and it was not a glitch -- this post makes a lot of sense: http://giandujakiss.livejournal.com/768212.html

Also, out of this debacle, I've learned that Amazon donates 60% of its corporate donations to Republicans.

Thanks. [livejournal.com profile] gladujakiss has some excellent points.

The #1 best seller at Amazon is creepy--they don't control that, I assume, but still: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/books/ref=sv_b_3

The only bookseller that heavily supports Democrats is Barnes & Noble. Fortunately that is the store closest to my house, as well.

As far as I heard, Brokeback Mt was one of the books that wouldn't show up earlier, and it does now, along with other things just as The Joy of Gay Sex, so I'm assuming the "glitch" is over.
