Sadly, I fear I do know what to make of it. Spheres of influence, walk softly and carry a big stick, manifest destiny, the sun never sets....I think this is where I came in.
In my mind, I make a very strong distinction between the current government of China and the Chinese people--I don't thing they're the same, at all.
Actually, I am glad in many ways that African nations are getting aid from somewhere. Too bad that only China is willing to provide it in the quantities that is needed, but hopefully some good will come of it, as well as this unfortunate part.
