The fall of Blagojevich is so horrible you almost have to enjoy it. A friend said, "At last somebody who makes our governor look good," speaking of Mark Sanford the SC male-Palin wannabe. And it's true that our governor is still at large--but that raises the question of which is worse: a criminally corrupt guy who at least supports the workers' sit-in (but probably they paid him to come, true) or a squeaky-clean (so far) guy who wants to destroy public education?

Can't we get one from column A and one from Column B?

Yeah, lucky people who have governors like Napolitano...or maybe even better, one that hasn't been snapped up by some other job!

We haven't had a good one since Dick Riley (Clinton's Sec. of Ed.) in the 80's. I'm hopeful for 2010, though.

Unfortunately for the immigrants' rights community, his fall will leave us with one less valuable ally. You never can be quite sure who you're in bed with.

Yes, my husband (from Chicago), is appalled by his behavior, but says too that he was on the right side in a number of ways.

Let's hope that whoever succeeds him also understands the immigrants' situation--really important in Chicago, and probably some other parts of the state as well.
