OK, now I really have to break down and put out the $$ for HBO. I've missed too much good stuff. And while I'm at it, Tivo. No more missing good TV.

That does sound cool, but since I still have little interest in 98% of what's on HBO, I guess I'll just wait (if impatiently) for the DVDs. And maybe this next summer I'll finally finish reading the books. I liked them a lot, then it was so long between volume 2 (?) and the next one that I sort of forgot what happened and I haven't had time or motivation to start over again.

I didn't start reading until last year, so I got to go through the first four without a pause. I didn't like the last one as well as the first three, so maybe Martin is getting tired of the series. Maybe a trilogy is long enough to stick with the same characters.

Re HBO, it's true that they have a lot of crap. But True Blood is something else I'd like to see, and they often have specials I hate missing.

But after a few months of paying, I may be agreeing with you again.

OTOH, TiVo, or some kind of DVR, is totally worth it. Go for that. Absolutely!
