A preacher/blogger I read posted his letter to his congregation about the election. He reminded those who opposed Obama with words to the effect that electing Obama would be the end of the world that four years ago the shoe was on the other foot and liberals were concerned that electing Bush would be the end of the world. I'm not sure where this preacher/blogger has been, but certainly it looks like Bush has ended the world for lots of people as well as animals, coral reefs and even Antarctica. I'm not surprised either. There's a lot of midnight rule making going on.

Yes, I find it hard to really see that this is just a difference of perspective. I know that Clinton pardoned some people he shouldn't have, and did some other things that might have bothered those on the right, but I don't recall his doing any last-minute sabotage like this.

Not unexpected, perhaps, but still depressing, and apparently much of it will be difficult to change or undo, as well.

Yes, that's the really horrible part. I hope it will be undone, but not easily.

Yeah, I've been getting email from both environmental & civil liberties group about the crap the lame ducks are trying to pull on their way out, sometimes w/links to petitions opposing it that you can sign.

Sadly, they have no motivation to pay attention to petitions, I fear.
