Well, today is the day my sister is moving out of her house, so I'm dogsitting to keep her ancient Schnauzer (Magic) and also my nephew's chow-collie mix (Birdie) from getting under the feet of the movers. I tried to explain to Mop that the dogs were coming, but you know how well cats listen.
I left the dogs in the car while I brought some of their stuff (beds, toys, etc) inside, and left the house door open while I went out to bring the dogs themselves in. Mop took one look and headed out the cat door onto the deck. A little later I saw her sitting on the rail beside the window and then the big dog came up beside me. Mop's eyes got as big as saucers and her ears went straight out to the sides of her head.
Poor kitty--it's going to be a long weekend. She has spent time with them at the beach, but so far hasn't been willing to be in the same room with them, or even on the same level of the house. Fortunately they are very nice dogs who are quite used to cats, so if she ever gets up her courage to get near them, she'll be fine.

Now THAT icon is classic! Robert and I both got a kick out of it. *grin*
Ps. I can't see your original icon, even if I go directly to your journal. :^(

That's a nice story
But one day a neighbor's cat stepped into our apartment and our kind and pieceful cat showed uncalled guest whose was the territory! She fought like an ancient hero and even got some wounds, including rended ear!
So, we understood her temper much better. Of course, while I tried to divide them I got several quite painful scratches!

Only one exception when she didn't growl - when any of her admirer sat there. But, then my mother turned him out pouring out on him cold water! :) (Our cat is a virgin)

My cat has been spayed, so she's not able to have kittens. There are so many homeless cats here that most people have their pets spayed or neutered. But, as you can see in this picture, she's a very pretty cat and would have had nice kittens, if we had allowed it.

Only sometimes we turned her admirers out.
This boy on whom my mother threw cold water sat on the windowsill 3 days. It was a funny and sad show to see them how they mewed to each other through window glass, we even called them "Romeo and Juliet", but you understand, we couldn't let them join each other.
