I've seen the discussing re: Copyright on a few boards. When it comes to toldtales and storybookland, the general consensus seems to be they are recommending the books, so they are allowed to put up a sample to explain their recommendations. In a lot of the threads, someone asks where they can get the books or for more info on the artist.
Kuniko's drawings for Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty have made me an ardent fan and I never would have bought her other books/Calendar, been so fired up about meeting her and done my college paper for my Humanities class on her if it weren't for the groups.
I know when I put up artists' drawing on my journal, I am doing it to recommend the artist and put links to more of their work.
