I was driving back from the beach, a beautiful sunny spring day. I came around a corner and saw cars ahead pulling over. I looked, and a car was upside down in the edge of the woods, and somebody was crawling out. I stopped and tried dialing 911 but just got beeps--need to call Sprint and find out what's up with that. I got out and walked back down to the car, and the guy was sitting there looking very shaken but not visibly hurt. The people there said he was the only one in the car. The top of the car was mashed down to the seats, and all the windows were smashed, and a little smoke was drifting around. Since there were quite a few other people also stopped and I thought he didn't need a crowd, I left. Someone reached 911 since I passed several firetrucks and EMT cars headed his way. Nobody knew how it happened. He was really lucky, because I think he'd passed me earlier going well over 70 (this is a 4 lane road, but not freeway).

Be careful!

Yikes, the guy was very lucky!
One of the main reasons I got a cell phone was the thought of driving so much on the freeway, and seeing something like this.
Slow down, everyone!

Still don't know why the cell didn't do its job, though. I'll post when I find out. Maybe we were all calling at the same time.

I'm sorry your cell phone didn't work when it needed to, but glad that the guy was all right. You're right -- sometimes the world calls for us to take care.

Scary on many fronts. Get that phone fixed!
