I'm beginning to have some problems with my laptop where I keep all my music. I've got an external hard drive (Maxtor OneTouch--I use Windows XP) and would like to back up my iTunes library there. I'm guessing some of you have done that--I see that there are various programs available for sale to help me do it. Any suggestions on one that really works? Or is there any simpler way to get the iTunes stuff on the external drive?
Sorry to keep bothering you with these tech questions. I know there are forums out there, but I know that I can trust you, whereas in a forum I never know whether people are just making up answers.
After years of listening mostly to blues and jazz and classic rock, I've suddenly begun to develop this taste for some newer stuff and would hate to lose what I've found.
ETA: Well, duh. The hard drive backs up the iTunes automatically. But thanks, still.

A good place to search for answers is on the Apple website: support: discussions. There is a folder for Windows iTunes. My guess is someone there will have the answer you need. I've found the folks on the Mac side to be quite good (if your question gets answered--sometimes they don't get answered; that used to not be the case.)

I will try the Apple forum--that sounds good.
