Mop is beginning to come out of it, I'm sure mainly thanks to all the good wishes from all of you. She has eaten and drunk water, which means to me that she's getting well. Unfortunately, she is now doing the Poor Sick Cat demanding whine: I must eat only kitty treats, I must drink only fresh-poured water, and I must have them now! A relief of course, but she only gets to do this through tomorrow. Her tell of wellness is that she's holding her tail up and meowing.

I may seem a little nutty to some of you, but I had many cats back in the days before they had vaccines against cat distemper, and I had quite a few cats who started with those symptoms and never recovered. It still scares me when a cat won't drink water.

Thank the Goddess of the Night for vaccines. Or maybe Our Lady of Veternary Science, whoever is responsible.

And thanks again to you other cat ladies and gents for the kind thoughts.

Glad your cat is feeling better.

I know all about cat monologues. I'm taking care of my sister's pets this week. The dog is happy at my house. The cat prefers not to be moved. My sister left the door to the area where the cat box is closed. There is also a pet door which the cat is perfectly capable of using. But she wants the big door opened for her. (She doesn't mind leaving the room through the cat door.) So Kitty says to herself, "I'll poop on the kitchen floor to show my mistress who's boss." Unfortunately her mistress isn't around to get the message. Fortunately I know what's going on and leave the door open after the first evening. Otherwise there'd be cat poop all over that house!
