FERRULE - The metal band on a pencil that holds the eraser in place. (Also on a paintbrush holding the bristles in place!)
HEMIDEMISEMIQUAVER - A 64th note. (A 32nd is a demisemiquaver, and a 16th note is a semiquaver.)
KEEPER - The loop on a belt that keeps the end in place after it has passed through the buckle. (Shows my age!)
PEEN - The end of a hammer head opposite the striking face. (Ball-Peen hammer...)
TANG - The projecting prong on a tool or instrument. (but I thought it was a tyne...)

This is one that they say is obsolete. I think it should still be used!

She swears that the silly birds used to attack her when she was in NYC! I think that they were probably getting even for when she used to chase them as a little girl! *L*
