No wheeled platform but yes, performance art connected with walking a cabbage eventually was advertised. Less common here than in some other places.

Since the 1st line ended with "walking a boy" on my screen, yeah, it did sound a little kinky. Enough to make me wonder if "boy choy" was supposed to be "boy toy"! The other typo makes more sense.
