We are celebrating because we are here with Little J (M's nephew) and doing our best to be good Jewish aunties (his mother was Jewish and it was her fervent wish that his training/raising in the culture/faith be continued after her death), in spite of our dearth of knowledge and familiarity (our own backgrounds are a mishmash of atheist, fundamentalist Christian, Episcopalian, pagan, Unitarian, and Quaker, with UU taking predominance now).
