If you've ever heard me, you'll find this entertaining:

Mine came up "Inland North." Apparently I walk around *thinking* I speak without accent entirely, while all the while making it quite clear to listeners I'm (now) from WISCONSIN (uh, that would be "WISCAAHNsin"). ;-)
