I just spent $75 for tickets to a concert tonight about 45 miles north, and I look out the window and see icicles!

Ice storms in the south mean no driving, for sure. Might as well be seeing little dollar bills with wings on them flying away in the sleet.

who were you going to see? and maybe, since there is ice, the show is actually cancelled. when we had ice here in portland over new years, they actually cancelled some NBA games. unheard of! and concerts are too wicked expensive these days aren't they?

Well, as it turned out, my husband the intrepid Chicagoan, refused to be stopped by a little southern winter and so we went and got back safely--and now get a nice day off!

Not sure whether to be embarrassed by showing my age or my taste--but it was a nostalgia trip, to see Judy Collins. Very nice, though--in a little old restored opera house, only about 300 people. She looked and sounded great, but forgot the words to two songs, the house lights came on with no reason or warning in the middle of another song, and her guitar stand fell down. But it was still fun.

Not to be embarrassed! She's coming to a small theatre here as well and was contemplating going to hear her. Did she do mostly new stuff or was it a nice waltz down memory lane?

About 98% waltz--I can remember only one unfamiliar song, and even that might be an oldie that I just don't know. But it was fun--her voice is still great and she's very personable with a small audience. Better choice for than trying to do big auditoriums, I think.
