Christmas is here. I bought all but one of my presents, and we put up our tree. It's small, and it tilts, but we got all the ornaments on it and lots of lights and garlands. I love every single ornament, and it takes me a while to decorate because I stop and remember when I got or made each one, and some of the other years it hung on the tree. Bill also has a few ornaments with associations but fortunately can keep moving along, so the process doesn't take a week. Mop was fascinated by our activity, of course, but handled it all very differently from my old cat Fernie, who used to start batting ornaments off the bottom before we got to the top. After a few exploratory sniffs and a little sip of water from the tree stand, Mop just sat on the rug in sphinx pose and watched us intently, like an anthropologist taking notes.

And then we had oyster stew with nutmeg (Bill and me--Mop had canned salmon but preferred Meow Mix as always).

I do too! If Santa doesn't bring me a new camera, I'll definitely get one myself. I did post this one a long time ago, but the focus was already going on the camera:

Oh! So much like my ol' Lucy, who lived to be almost twenty! A lovely cat.
