These are the times that try our souls. And here on LJ, there's plenty of trying going on.

I tend to go roaming around and friending a variety of people for my own obscure reasons, forgetting that when I post, I'm inviting you all to a party and not introducing you. So from time to time, things get a little snippy.

I'm beginning to realize I set the stage for these mis-meetings by raising political questions in a political time, and for that, I'm sorry. I wish everyone I like would like each other, but I know that's not going to happen.

If I could make rules of conduct for my LJ, it wouldn't be LJ. So let this stand as a warning: here you will hear things you might not want to hear (maybe not from me directly, but from someone. I guarantee it.)

I don't think that disagreement or even snippiness is inherently a bad thing, and brava to you for raising political questions in a political time. Disagreements happen, and not everyone is going to like each other, but that's part of what makes life interesting and keeps us out of complacency, IMO.

This is OK, N.

It is a is part things too, yes?

I'm so sorry. I forget how I seem sometimes. I don't regret anything I said, but I shouldn't have done it in someone else's journal.

Right, I know. Fun in its way, I hope.

Thanks, though.

No, that's OK. As I said, these times get to us all. And why are we here, if not to exchange ideas?

I just don't want to set up people to have a bad experience with each other, but it's going to happen. And I've definitely had some spats on other people's journals, too. Maybe yours--can't even remember!

I read that particular post, and the comments. I don't think it was your responsibility to make things nice and comfy..we all need to have our ideas shaken up occasionally, and I enjoy it when I am forced to think about something I might not have if not for something someone wrote in their LJ. However, not everyone seems to be able to refrain from getting snippy about things..but that's their issue, not yours.

people get snippy? really? it's just words after all. it takes all kinds to make up our world.

Yes, you're absolutely right. I guess I felt responsible because...not sure why. It's sort of like my LJ is mine, you know? But I truly can't control what they say to each other.

Thanks for the reminder.

That wasn't what I meant exactly *hug* I meant it was important.

Oh! I see. Yes, it is--important to exchange ideas. Actually, what really bothered me a bit was that I think maybe the discussion polarized people when one of them might have been getting close to looking at things a new way. But maybe even retreating back to a position for a little while is a step on the way to changing.

There's part of me that likes to stir things up, and another part that really regrets being the cause of conflict. Hard to have both parts managing one LJ--maybe I should actually run several. I could probably have long comments and responses just among all my various selves...

And me too! I didn't mean to be dismissive of your feelings.

Giggling a bit over that last bit, and yet nodding at the same time. Know just how you feel. Today it is the kid aspect that is out for me.

Go jump in the leaves--if you have those already! We do, but just brown ones from late-summer drought.
