I loved your post! Retreat and meditation experiences are wonderful. At every retreat I've been to, animals have been somehow involved but I must admit I've never had an animal climb on top of me during yoga! I find that birds seem to flock to me whenever I meditate and the local cats congregate under the window. Maybe I should take my yoga mat outside and see what the animals will do!
I find that a lot of the same benefits of meditation as you do. It's much easier to let go of my expectations of others, to understand their behaviour even when they are being horrible to me (which was an experience I had at my own retreat) and to get more done every day. I accomplish much more, sleep better and don't procrastinate. I find as a result that life flows, that things I need come to me without a huge amount of angst or effort and I gain satisfaction and nourishment from what I do. It's a fabulous thing.
I must admit that I love sharing these experiences with you.
