I think the fire part is about the terrific holiness of the body. Do you practice yoga? I found that this poem really said what I experience there. so the last part to me says that it's the tension between the spirit's longing for pure spirit and the body's own holiness that makes us human. If that makes sense! I'm not great at explaining poems.
