Driving home from the Goodwill, I heard part of Margaret Garner, the opera about the same woman as the protagonist of Toni Morrison's Beloved, and it sounded good. Maybe not--and as always, opera is totally different when you see it. But I've just started listening online. It's almost local--from Charlotte.
(I didn't even know Charlotte had an opera--even though I go there a lot, I mostly eat Thai food and catch planes when I'm there.)
It's a very sad story--not sure I can listen to it all at once.
