(no subject)

My sister is moving out of the house she's lived in for thirty years. One of my best friends is ending a marriage of fifty years. Two people on my friends list are moving, two or three more are ending marriages. Two more have just retired. A few are getting married or moving in together.

I've had my turn at all of those, and can't say I envy them the work and loss and pain involved, but when something huge happens in your life, you become a new person. At times like these, I notice how much junk I've accumulated, both in my house and in my head, and understand why nature throws storms around the way she does.
