On with the movie theme. This week I've seen:
Before the Rains--Set in Kerala, India, in the 1930's, it's a story about an Indian woman and an Englishman, his relationship to the Indian man who works for him, and the coming clash between colonialism and Indian independence. Excellent acting and incredible photography.
Roman de Gare--LeLouch (A Man and a Woman, Les Miserables, etc.) can still direct! One of those great thrillers with wonderful characters and great plot twists, great pacing and fun comic/serious actors, especially Dominique Pinon and Audrey Dana. Anything I say about the plot will be a spoiler--but I really loved the non-stereotypical French settings.
