Most elections, I find myself looking for a third party. And I'll be the first to say that the Democrats even this year are far from perfect. But after 8 years of Bush, we can't afford to look for the absolutely perfect candidate, who has never made a mistake. What we can look for is the major party candidate who has the best chance of setting a new direction towards equity and justice domestically, and who can redeem the US in the eyes of the world. When I thought about the primary that way, it was clear to me that I had to vote for a candidate who had a decent chance of winning, but also one who really spoke out for (and had a record that supported) the things I really believe in.

I couldn't be a Green this year. I couldn't sneak in to vote for the slightly-less-bad Republican. It seemed clear that my choice had to be Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. When I saw it that way, it was easy to choose Obama. I know that not everyone will make the same choice, or even follow the same line of reasoning.

But I sure hope you all vote. This year, it's worth the trouble.

Because I'm registered as No Party Affiliation, I didn't get to vote in my state's primary. (It's a closed primary.)

But boy, I'm ready to vote in November. I don't care WHO the Democratic candidate is, the lever is ready to be pulled for her or him.

The nice thing about the post-Bush era is that pretty much any of the candidates could rip off their face to reveal a baby-eating lizard alien from the V mini-series and would still be more benevolent and principled than the guy you've got now.

Me too! Ann Coulter said that if McCain were the Republican candidate she'd vote for Hillary. I find that hard to believe, but it's another reason not to vote for Hillary.

I do hope Obama wins tomorrow.

I completely agree with your reasoning. I can't bear another Republican in office. This country needs a 180 degree turnaround.

Yeah, a lot of states don't give you the chance to vote in the primary--I can see reasons on both sides. For me, the vote in November is the one that matters. Just hope everyone remembers that, when the time comes.

Glad you're back!

Exactly. I hope some of the ones who dropped out of the race will reappear at some point. What matters is the monster who's already in the Oval Office.

Yes! I really hope that people will get caught up in a possibility again.

Whatever happens tomorrow, only one thing should happen in November!

the longer into the primaries it goes, the more clear my choice of Obama becomes. I cannot see Clinton in office. Again.

Well said. Of course, North Carolina inexplicably holds its primary in May (state motto: "If there ever is a dead tie, you'll be thanking us"), so I guess I'll just ask other people to vote Obama.

Well, you may yet get your chance. A dead tie is not impossible, this year!

Ann Coulter?! That's an endorsement that doesn't help. Let's hope for Obama!

...I'm registered as "Independent", but have gotten over the third-party thing if the candidate is not viable: Bernie Sandres, yes; Ralph Nader, no (both of whom I've met)...the ship sank, and the two main democratic liferafts at least have potential, even if they're funny-shaped or unknown or have sticking-out sharp edges a little...I'm completely willing to vote for whoever of the two gets it...

I've spend a lot time hoping that third party ideas could impact the main stream, but right now I think we just have to stop the Republicans!
