I'm thankful that I was born a human this time--and inspired to make the best of my luck for the time I have left.
And very thankful for getting to know all of you, my teachers, friends, and giggle-inspirers.

I am very happy you were born a monkey who types online, says the halfing that just got smooched by a Kees.

Hope your turkey day was great.
Re: trans
Ben and I had one cat before we had dogs. She adopted us one very cold and snowy January when we lived in a no animals apt in Albany by the angela insightful method of showing up at our apartment door, looking miserable and refusing to leave. Our first cohab. I am not sure I can quite wrap my head around the concept of animals as pets.. Are you a cat person mamcu? or cats have just worked out so to speak? *
(*I am more just an animal person, if such a thing is, and maybe by environment rather than nature. I have this sneaking suspiscion in my more cynical moments that there's an animal grapevine out there, and my name is on the street ;)
Re: trans
Most of my cats have arrived via the animal grapevine* the way yours did (my current cap Mop showed up about a year ago, just when we were thinking we might just stay per-free for a while), though I have been known to actually go out and get a cat deliberately. I guess I am a cat person, but dogs are a close second. I haven't had one because I too often travel long distances, but have really loved my sister's Schnauzer and her others (I guess I have dogs like I have grandchildren: borrowed!) I think I'll eventually settle down enough to have one, though. But I've almost never been without a cat.
*Or maybe they put marks on our doors, the way hobos used to. I know cats do that!
